The Dept of Pediatric and Preventive dentistry, Mahatama Gandhi Dental College and Hospital, Sitapura, Jaipur provides comprehensive treatment for all the dental problems to children less than 14 years of age and also emphasizes health education by conducting dental and health education camps.

The department is especially dedicated to children and has been designed to make children feel more comfortable in the operatory. Our focus is to bring healthy smiles to children and instill a positive attitude towards dentistry. Multiple school dental health programs are in force with dental adoption of more than 30 schools. Special projects are also being done in collaboration with multinational companies like Bosch and HUMANA (an NGO by Govt. of Norway). In recent times our department got affiliated with Rashtriya Bal Swastha Karyakram (RBSK), Jaipur.

  • Advance methodology of training including minor fixed orthodontics, management of traumatic cases and specialized posting in general paediatrics department.

Special facility

The department is well equipped with the recent equipments like Digital X-rays, Intra-oral camera, Pedo chairs with mounted TV, Conscious sedation machine and other equipments that are ideally necessary for a paediatric dental set-up. Separate Play rooms, isolation room, minor surgery room, PG labs, and seminar rooms with roof-mounted LCD projectors are available in the department.

Teaching Module

Undergraduate Training (BDS)

The undergraduate program comprises of didactic lectures, discussions, seminars, projects, preclinical work and clinics. The department encourages the students to actively participate in school dental health programs.

Postgraduate Training (MDS)

The goals of the PG program are to produce competent Pedodontists and / or Pediatric Dental Teachers. The objective is to train the Post-Graduate regarding psychological development, behavioural problems and the various techniques of management of children, the various preventive measures in order to implement in the dental office as well as to the community, in prenatal counselling, to recognize various dental and oral diseases in children and to treat them effectively with the most recent methodology and also to treat the dental problems in the disabled child. The training program concentrates on the presentation of seminars, journal clubs, case discussions, training lectures, conference presentations, paper publications.
