Overview

Established as MGUMST’s constituent college in 2019, Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Health Informatics thrives on the ultimate aim to enhance the standard of patient care with using of modern technology and informatics applications.

The college offers courses in a multidisciplinary field that links Health Care, Information Technology Management Sciences and Computer Sciences together.

The programme expands on the resources and methodology for the management of healthcare related data. Health informatics is the study of resources and methods for the management of healthcare related data.

This field of healthcare amalgamates information science, computer science, and healthcare to optimise the acquisition, storage, retrieval, and use of information in the healthcare and biomedical fields.

Health informatics tools encompass not only computers but also clinical guidelines, medical terminologies, and information and communication systems. In line with this, the Government of India has introduced the Digital India initiative to enhance online infrastructure and improve Internet connectivity, aiming to provide electronic healthcare services to citizens.

Mission and Vision

With an aim to provide Digital health Education that will provide generations for medical treatment, training, and research. Evaluate knowledge of practice relevant to health information management. Use formal research as a tool to evaluate and develop practice. Develop a workforce who can work with other health care professionals to achieve a quality service. Enable health care organization for better management of patient information.

Support health care administrators in routine activities. Apply the knowledge obtained on specialized areas effectively in the health care system. Use interpersonal skills to facilitate effective communication with various health care professionals.
